Message from the President`s desk

Dear Members of the Telangana Ophthalmological Society (TOS),

It is with immense joy and pride that I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the TOS family for entrusting me with the honor of serving as your President. This opportunity reflects the unwavering support, encouragement, and faith I have received from each of you. I pledge to dedicate my best efforts to uphold and enhance the glory of TOS.

Since its inception following our separation from erstwhile AP, TOS has grown remarkably. From a modest beginning with 720 life members, our society now proudly includes more than 2000 members. Together, we have successfully organized eight physical conferences and one virtual conference, all of which have played a pivotal role in advancing ophthalmology in our state.

This progress has been made possible by the solid foundation laid by our visionary past Presidents, their leadership, dedication, and foresight have steered our society to new heights, and I extend my sincere appreciation for their invaluable contributions.

I also commend the relentless efforts of the Scientific Committee in raising the standards of our state conferences, which now rival those at the national level. My special thanks go to past Chairpersons, their unwavering commitment has ensured the highest quality of scientific programs that benefit both senior practitioners and junior residents alike.

As we move forward, my vision for TOS focuses on key areas:

Addressing Legal and Ethical Challenges :

With increasing incidents of assaults on doctors, we must work with government representatives and media to raise awareness about the complexities of ophthalmic care.

TOS is an inclusive society that thrives on the active participation and contributions of all its members. I encourage you to share your ideas and suggestions to help shape the future of our society. Together, we can continue to build on the legacy of excellence established by our predecessors.

To our young ophthalmologists and postgraduates, I urge you to embrace the opportunities provided by TOS. Your passion, innovation, and dedication are the driving forces that will shape the future of ophthalmology.

Lastly, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family, especially my wife Bhavani, for her unwavering support throughout my journey. I also thank my friends, teachers, and colleagues for their constant encouragement and kindness.
