From the President`s desk….
We are now an organization of nearly 1000 ophthalmologists and our mandate is to take care of ocular health of the three and half crore people of Telangana. We have to prevent, treat eye disorders and rehabilitate whom we cannot treat.
To that effect, we have to be well informed scientifically and provide evidence based medicine for our patients. Various conferences, social media discussion groups and the internet which is available everywhere through our smart phones are helping us.
Nearly a hundred post graduates pass out every year and if we can teach them the science of ophthalmology appropriately and effectively, overtime our society will be up to date scientifically.
Fortunately we have L.V.Prasad Eye Institute, Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Regional Eye Hospital - Warangal and various other institutions which are doing a great job of teaching post graduates. Telangana ophthalmological society will make efforts to bring together these institutions, post graduates and practicing ophthalmologists through CME`s and conferences.

TOS office bearers will continue to visit various district headquarters to know and interact with our members. We will be in contact with our members through various social media fora.
We want all our members to have a dedicated page on the website of TOS wherein they can post their curriculum vitae, achievements, awards, photographs, special professional interests, hobbies and family details. This data will help us to provide a geographical directory of ophthalmologists and ophthalmic service in Telangana. It will also help in knowing our colleagues better and referring our patients for specialty care and convenience.
If you have any problem accessing your web page please contact the helpline of TOS website +91-6281147511.
We need to encourage our members to get NABH accreditation and adopting electronic medical records for better patient care and avoid medicolegal issues. We need to make conscious efforts to reduce usage, recycle and reuse our precious resources to protect our environment.
Please feel free to contact TOS office bearers for any suggestions / comments for a better Telangana ophthalmological society.
